About Whim-Sea
“Whim-Sea” is a cedar shingled 1940's home in the fine tradition of New England beach houses. We abut both the Atlantic and the Great Hampton Salt
Marsh. We have renovated in 2025 and all the major systems are new - however we have tried to preserve some of the charming “old house” features.
We hope you will love its quirk as much as we do.
We have two (plus) apartments here -
>> “Whim-sea I” is a newly renovated two bedroom, one bath roomy apartment for 6 adults. There is a queen bedroom, a twin bedroom with a twin
trundle and a queen air mattress. Whim-Sea I has one fill bath. There is a full kitchen and very comfortable and roomy front porch. (max 6 adults)
>>”Whim-Sea I plus” is a newly renovated one room studio suite with a full bath and small kitchenette which you can add on to any rental. Sleeps 2
adults. We call it the “Sweet Suite”!
The Suite can be added to any reservation to provide a extra queen bed and full bathj.
We are sorry, but this suite cannot be rented on its own due to the strict Hampton zoning rules. (max 2 adults)
>>Whim-Sea II is a three bedroom, one bath, full kitchen unit with spectacular front deck views of the Atlantic Ocean and a lovely deck out back
overlooking the Hampton Salt Marsh. There is a king bedroom, queen bedroom, full bedroom with a twin trundle and a queen air mattress. (max 9
adults)
Pack and plays/highchairs can be provided upon request
Welcome!
Wendy & Mike Eldredge We are so pleased to welcome you to our lovely spot. We know you will enjoy your time here and we hope you will want to come back again and again. This guide should answer your questions - but we are always here to help. This is a family home and we hope you will enjoy it and treat it as such. We know you have many choices when deciding where to stay and we appreciate you visiting Whim-sea so much.

Getting to the Beach
While the beach is directly across the
street, we encourage you to use the
crosswalk 4 houses down on the left hand
side. There are no lifeguards. Please be
safe and watch the tides! Low tide is the
best time to enjoy our beach!
Respect the Salt Marsh
The Great Hampton Salt Marsh is literally
our backyard. Enjoy and respect the
wildlife and the birdlife in our marsh. Be
careful not to throw anything past this
fence. State and Federal fines may apply.
Check in Procedure & Unlocking
Check in time is at 4:00 pm.
You will receive the door code 1 hour prior
to check in. All units are clearly marked.
“Whim-Sea I” enters from the front door which is
located on the front porch.
“Whim-Sea I plus” access is from the back door.
We have a lockbox next to the door since the salt
spray this close to the water is hard on “smart
locks”. Please be careful with the keys - there is a
$300 lost key charge.
Each Whim-Sea apartment reservation gets
one parking spot. Whim-Sea 1 may park in
the front of the house to the left. Whim-Sea
2 gets the spot to in the front of the house to
the right. Signage is clear.
Please, only park in the spaces reserved for you.
Additional parking can be found across the street in the
town lot and is free from November 1-April 30. Pay by
plate is available for the balance of the year.
We would love to have you invite friends over - but please
know that they can’t stay overnight. We are reasonable
about our guest policy - but you can’t hold a party!
Guests need to be on their way home before
quiet hours (10pm). Please don’t invite unregistered
guests to stay overnight. We have town occupancy rules
we are required to follow.
Please respect the parking spaces & be prudent with how many people
you may wish to invite over. Guests need to be gone by quiet hours.
